Sara Edwards
Sara Edwards is a law student with Nanda & Company and is entering her third year of law school at the Schulich School of Law. She is particularly interested in Aboriginal and Family law, as well as investigating systemic issues surrounding legal response to gender-based violence.
In 2020, Sara summered at Innocence Canada as a legal fellow, working with staff lawyers and educators in reviewing claims of wrongful convictions and engaging in public legal education and advocacy. Since starting law school, she has worked with The Canadian Centre for Legal Innovation in Sexual Assault Response (CCLISAR) to research intersections of AI technology and sexual assault response. She also volunteers at the Dalhousie Legal Aid Clinic providing legal information to Nova Scotians about their tenant rights.
Prior to law school, Sara completed a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction at the University of Alberta and a Master of Arts in Communication and Culture at X and York Universities. In her free time, Sara also enjoys chilling with her cat Morpheus, hiking, binging reality TV, and thrifting for clothes.
Sara is very excited for this opportunity to further her experience with civil litigation, and continue to learn how to use the law to advance human rights and social justice causes.
