Solomon college post graduate work permit class action
Nanda & Company has commenced a class proceeding against Solomon College Ltd., Solomon College International Ltd., Apex Professional Group Ltd., Amarjot Singh, Ping Ping Lee, Bun Wah Lau, and Shawn Gabriel for their alleged involvement in a scheme to mislead foreign nationals into enrolling in a Hotel & Hospitality Management Diploma Program offered by Solomon College, a private vocational college located in Edmonton, Alberta.
Dozens of foreign nationals allege that they were informed by Solomon College and immigration consultants that by enrolling in and completing Solomon College’s Hotel & Hospitality Management Diploma Program, they would be eligible to apply for an open work permit in Canada known as the Post Graduate Work Permit.
Solomon College’s Hotel & Hospitality Management Diploma Program was never eligible for the Post Graduate Work Permit Program, and its graduates of the program would never be eligible for the Post Graduate Work Permit.
Nanda & Company represents dozens of foreign nationals who have commenced legal action against Solomon College and those alleged to be involved in the scheme.

May 31, 2019: The Honourable Justice J.T. Henderson issued a decision denying an application to strike the Plaintiffs’ claim, finding that the Plaintiffs allege and advance reasonable causes of action against each of the Defendants, including fraudulent misrepresentation, negligent misrepresentation, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, breach of the duty of good faith in contractual performance, and the corporate veil of the corporate Defendants can be pierced to hold its directors personally liable for any unlawful conduct.
